Chronicles of Domainia – The Domains, The Niches and the Portfolio – 31-11-2023

Trying a new blog title format.

Hello, fellow niche builders and domainers! Today, I’m thrilled to share my recent domain-related activities, including new registrations, renewals, a successful sale, and a side project that’s taking shape. Let’s dive into the details:

New Registration:

  1. id.mk: I’m excited to announce the registration of this unique and distinctive domain name, “id.mk.” As Macedonia’s country code top-level domain (ccTLD), .mk holds great potential. “id” could represent “identity,” making it ideal for personal branding, identity verification services, or any digital platform related to individual identification. It’s concise, memorable, and, I believe, a valuable addition to my domain portfolio.

Renewals:

I’ve also chosen to renew several existing domains that I believe have significant potential:

  1. velankanni.in: Velankanni is a well-known pilgrimage destination in India. This domain holds great value for businesses or organizations catering to religious tourism, travel, or spiritual content. Renewing it ensures that it remains a part of my portfolio for future development or resale.
  2. merak.in: “Merak” is a Serbian word that conveys a sense of contentment and satisfaction in doing something with all your heart. This unique domain can be a perfect fit for a blog, website, or business that promotes well-being, happiness, or lifestyle content. It’s a gem worth holding onto.
  3. minneapolis.in: Minneapolis is a major city in the United States, and this domain can be a fantastic asset for businesses, travel agencies, or anyone looking to target the Minneapolis market. By renewing it, I’m keeping my options open for potential opportunities in the future.

Successful Sale:

I’m delighted to share that I recently sold the domain stellar.rs for 350 Euros. “Stellar” implies excellence, quality, and, in the context of .rs, Serbia’s ccTLD, it could have various applications in the Serbian market. This sale is a testament to the value of quality domain names and the potential for profitable domain investments.

“maker.is” and Twitter Journey:

In addition to my domain investments, I’m actively working on developing “maker.is,” a directory of indie hackers, makers, and interesting projects by them. The site is live, and while it’s currently devoid of content, it’s poised to become a valuable resource for the maker community.

To kickstart the project, I’ve also created a Twitter account (Handle: maker_is_) and have begun engaging with makers on the platform. I’ve started following over 100 makers and actively commenting on their posts. While the account is in its early stages, it’s my way of contributing to and connecting with the maker community.

It’s worth noting that I’ve encountered some initial challenges, such as attracting only a few followers (currently 8) and dealing with what seem to be bot accounts. However, I’m confident that with continued effort and valuable content, the Twitter account will grow and become a hub for makers to connect and share their projects.

As a domain investor and a supporter of the maker community, these endeavors reflect my passion for both domains and the innovative world of makers and creators. I’m excited about the possibilities ahead, both in the domain space and in nurturing a thriving maker community on Twitter. Stay tuned for further updates, and thank you for being part of my journey!
